My Target for 80kg

I had not thought that I would be writing on this topic, but one day I was just wondering why I couldn’t gain weight in spite of trying so hard to do it. Since I was in the school I was a bit skinny and would always hear from people about the same. I was into athletics and hence I was more into cardio vascular exercises rather than weight gain. But it was not the thing that I would not eat more. The thing was that my metabolism rate is too high. Hence whatever I use to eat would just not get on my body. However everything would just get digested and utilized while I use to run the 100metres race and do a long jump. This was the story when I was in the school.

Later on when I got into college and due to my injury on the ankle I stopped participating in athletics but used to regularly play volleyball and some other sports and keep myself fit. Since that time onwards I thought seriously about gaining weight. But as always when we start new things we are not completely aware about the hidden facts and the tricks that are embedded within it. At that time some people used to say that if you start going to gym at early stages of your life then you have to suffer later. Hence I didn’t start the gym at junior college level. I used to exercise at home. At that time I had shape for my muscles but no size and hence whenever I used to wear half sleeves shirt everyone used to admire at my biceps, but the same people would comment on me whenever I wore full sleeves shirts. At that time I was almost 6 feet and my weight was 60kg. Considering by BMI I was way below the normal range.

I used to work out hard but did not know the importance of diet, especially the protein intake and the calorie intake required to gain weight. According to the weight of a person he requires the same amount in proteins in grams. I.e. if my weight is 60kg then I would require 60g of protein for my normal body functionality. Similarly an average person requires 2200 Kcal of energy every day. If you are into weight gain then you would require 1000Kcal of extra energy everyday to gain 0.5 kg weight per week. The figures seem to be pretty high but these are fact. And hence in order to gain weight and to gain weight at proper body parts we need to follow the diet in the similar manner followed with regular exercise. Otherwise the weight which we gain comes mostly from the lower part of our stomach.

While I was doing my engineering and after surfing the net for more information and gathering loads of information on this topic I started going to Gym and following the diet which would be available at all times and which I can afford at the same time. And one more important thing which I followed was consistency in everything, may it be exercise, diet and taking equal amount of rest. Because once you workout hard then you need to take required amount of rest. For this then I had to sacrifice some of the night outs and going out of coffee late night. But I don’t regret it because I certainly have benefited from it.

Today I working as a software professional and I am 6 feet 3 inches in height and my weight is 78 kg, now it’s just 2 kg’s to achieve in 1 month as per my goal to be achieved and I am sure that if I follow my current routine I will surely achieve it. After gaining the required amount of muscles on my body then I would concentrate on my abs and then you all will have to find out whether it is the same Bhushan who was in the school whom you are looking at now.
